Run a gap analysis

A gap analysis turns a regulatory item into a structured assessment: which requirements apply to your workspace, where your existing controls meet them, and where they do not. The output is the input to your remediation workflow.

Start the analysis

  1. From the item detail page (see View your first risk score), click Run gap analysis in the Remediation section.
  2. ACE generates a draft assessment by mapping the rule's requirements against your existing controls. The draft loads within a few seconds.
  3. Each requirement row shows one of three states: Met, Partial, or Gap. Click any row to expand the underlying evidence.

Review and confirm

The draft is a starting point. For each requirement row, you can:

Generate remediation tasks

When you finalize the assessment, ACE creates one remediation task per Gap row and one per Partial row that you flagged as needing work. Each task lands in your workspace with the source item linked, the requirement text, and your state row as the evidence anchor.

What to do next

The tasks show up in the Remediation queue. From here, the next guide shows you how to invite a teammate to take ownership of the work — useful when legal, operations, or product need to weigh in on a single gap.
